Innorobo is one of the most important fairs in the world about robotics. The third edition was held from March 19th to 21st 2013 in the Congress Center the Cité Internationale of Lyon (France).
Most interesting to DH Compliant 2 of the fair were robots and innovation serviced. Every year there are small start-ups with interesting projects, but also bi companies with new proposals.
In this edition there wasn’t so much innovation or new robots. They were quite the same as in 2012. For example iRobot again be present with your Roomba, but it was worth checking out the new iRobot 530 Mirra, a robot to clean the bottom of the pool.
For us it was very interesting Winboot, an autonomously cleaning windows robot:
Aquitane Robotics presented a quadricopter (http://microdrones.com) trying to be the alternative to the Parrot AR Drone 2.0, but without a big investment in marketing will be difficult to reach the level of popularity of this. To be fair, the power of the new drone is far superior to Parrot, but we’re sure the price too.
Probably, from the visual point of view, the most impressive was the salamander robot, which has the ability to move on land and on water. In fact, like the animal itself, if it loses some of its parts is able to keep moving:
Finally, although not new, the humanoid robot NAO continues to advance and now gets to walk hand of a person and drives a small electric car.
We hope that next year the company surprised us with some more innovation. We expect the software (the hardware seems appropriate) keeps evolving to provide more interaction with humans.
